Losing the wet edge can leave visible overlaps or uneven sheen when an area begins drying before the adjoining area is painted.
After the second finish coat dries, I walk the job with a work light. I look for missed spots, uneven cut-ins, roller marks, flashing, and differences in sheen. Satin and semi-gloss deserve particular attention.
