Back-rolling
Back-rolling is the process of running a roller over freshly sprayed paint while it is still wet and workable to distribute the coating, work it into the surface texture, and produce a more uniform rolled finish. It can help improve coverage and adhesion on properly prepared surfaces. It is commonly used on drywall, stucco, masonry, and rough siding. The roller follows the sprayer before the coating begins to set.
